Who I am.
Of all things on earth, computers have largely struck my fancy since I was in school. After completing a fine schooling from St. Mary's School (2001) and junior college from Ferguson College (2003), both in Pune, a natural choice lead me to a Bachelor of Science degree in Computers (2006). My inclination towards business (being a Gujarati :)), and timely guidance lead me to a Masters in Business Administration (Information Technology, electives Banking and Financial Markets) from Symbiosis International University (specifically, Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research, 2007-2009). I've managed a first class throughout, with a few distinctions; a single exception being my XIIth marks. Contrary to a popular saying, I maintain that- "I am born intelligent and smart enough to not let education ruin me."
My major interest is driven because of me being a devotee of Lord Swaminarayan, and a follower of my Gurus: Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj. I relate to God, in all facets of my life. My Sundays are reserved for God. I invest most of my time surfing the net to stay updated, stay abreast with the latest in the technology space. I like to code, time files by when I do (that's enough to explain my fascination for it :)). I don't prefer writing high-fundu code just to twist my brain to the fullest, as much as writing code that can go into production and improve the life of its users (more business oriented). I've written lots of it.
I read about psychology, life and business more often than anything else. More real, not much fiction. Same for movies. (That doesn't rule out me being a serious dreamer. That I am. But I do not need books or movies for that). I also love digging quotations and sharing them with people. I am passionate about reading people, their faces and their behavior in response to stimuli. At the same time, I grasp with both hands any opportunity to be with myself, introspect and think endlessly.
I track the share markets closely. An Active Trader whenever free. Cooking, is another interest and to watch someone eat food you've cooked, is a joy of its kind.Everyone has a special interest which many a times they cannot follow regularly: one in my case is star-gazing and astronomy. Oh yes, a special interest that I cannot miss: People close to me are deprived of problems cause I love solving them. I think I'm born for it. I love to help people and bail them out of trouble. One long walk down the lane is all it takes to feel better.

update: 3 years on...
well, most stuff is still the same about me. i was amazed to come back to this page after this long stretch and realize that. though within there have been many changes. it's like gold melting, it starts to melt from the core, and you don't see a change on the exterior till it is fully done melting. i've started to realize my spiritual self even better and have gained substantial momentum on that front.
my career at ThoughtWorks is blossoming really well with me having completed 3 years now. i'm realizing the benefits of our bread-and-butter Agile, TDD, continous delivery and devOps practices. loving this part of my life. feel blessed.
may God Bless everyone with an equal opportunity and be at peace with one's self.
